Program Description

The CPMA program offers an intense interactive ten (10) week tutoring process.  Sessions are held in our facility on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

 

CPMA Course Goals and Objectives

Develop a working knowledge of the auditing principals associated with:

    • Coding Concepts and Practices
    • The Medical Record
    • Medical Documentation Guidelines
    • Fraud & Abuse
    • Civil and Criminal Penalties
    • Scope of Audit
    • Medical Record Auditing Skills and Abstraction Ability
    • Statistical Sampling Methodologies
    • Quality Assurance
    • Coding Risk Analysis
    • Communication of Audit Results and Findings
    • Governmental Regulations & Guidelines

Required Materials & Resources

All students are expected to have current coding books and an active AAPC membership.  All additional materials necessary for successful exam preparation are included in the course fee, including:

    • National Audit Tools
    • Practice Questions
    • Practice Audit Cases
    • AAPC CPMA Certification Exam
